Bit of History
St Patrick’s construction was completed in 1897. The 5 acres of land was obtained in 1851, granted to the Roman catholic church.
It took over 40 years to build, mainly due to the gold rush in the 1850s and the great depression of the 1890s.
In 1994 it was closed for a year for restoration work. In 1997 it celebrated its 100 year anniversary.
