This phone is GSM and I have not yet come across a country where I have not been able to use it. Just purchase a local SIM and you are good to go.

Big Screen Doubles as a tablet

Because of its larger then normal screen size and decent resolution there is no need really to bring you Computer or tablet along as this Phablet will achieve 95% of the tasks you need to get done when out and about

Watch Movies

The big screen makes it comfortable to watch movies when on the go. There have been many times when I stayed in a hotel with no TV. I regularly load mine up with videos and then watch them on the plain, train, boat, taxi etc.

Many Accessories

Because this is a mainstream phone and is made by the popular Samsung, finding accessories for this phone is very easy they are everywhere. Aftermarket accessories are even more easy to find making this the perfect phone for finding cheap aftermarket accessories. For example you could buy a charging dock form Samsung for $60 or get an aftermarket similar one for $10

Reliable

Over the last two years I have never had any major issues with this phone. The only thing that comes to mind is when I had a smaller SD card GB, when it got full sometimes the phone would restart. Since upgrading the memory to class 10 SD GB it has been running flawlessly.

Share the Internet

Have you ever stayed in a hotel room that only provides access to one or two devices?

As with all the modern Android phone this one has the ability to take in a 3G/4G internet connection and Re-Share it out again via WiFi.

Excellent for Taking Quick Notes

When I fist used this phone I thought yeah it cool to have a stylus but I will probably never use it. It turns out however, I use it all the time especially when traveling. The ability to take quick handwritten notes without needing to rely on an internet connection has served me well in my travels

Replaceable Battery

This is an absolute must when traveling. More and more of the newer phone are coming out with a fixed non removable battery. The Note 2 has a removable battery so you can easily carry around a spare or two or 5 if you need. There are many standalone chargers available that will charge two or three spare batteries at a time. You will never need to worry about battery with this one.

Easy to Charge

Charging the Note is super easy. No need to carry around some expensive propriety charger cable. This Samsung uses the ubiquitous, easily found everywhere micro USB cable. You can purchase micro usb cables everywhere even at 7 eleven and they are cheap.

Expandable Storage.

When you are out and about on holidays it is important to have a lot of storage on hand to store all of your pictures and videos.
The Note 2 makes this so easy to do with its SD memory card slot.
I always carry around a GB Class 10 chip inside my phone.
Keep one spare so never need to worry about not being able to take a video due to running out of space.
