Sampeng Market Bangkok
Sampeng Market also known as the Yaowarat Market, Bangkok Chinatown Wholesale Market, or the Sampeng Lane Market.
When items arrive from China they are sold at the Sampeng Market first.
The only place you may find cheaper prices would be at the Bobae Night Market.
You will however have to purchase in bulk 100 of the same item.
At Sampeng you will come across vendors that only sell in bulk. For example 6 shirts of the same size, color, and type. But unlike Bobae there are plenty of shops that are happy to sell you just one item.
You will however get a better price if you purchase 3.
The goods are then purchased by vendors and resold at other markets and malls. From Sampeng goods make their way to Platinum Fashion Mall, JJ Weekend Market, various street vendors along Sukhumvit Road, Patpong Night Market, MBK, Siam Square and Paragon etc.
To ilustrate the pricing, here is an example.
If a pair of high quality Jeans are purchased at Sampeng Market for ฿300. The same jeans will be found at Platimum Fashion Mall for ฿700, MBK or JJ for ฿1000, and Patpong Night Market for ฿1500-฿1700.
