I think back to my first trip to Thailand. I could not believe what I was seeing. On my first few days every time I saw a mass of tangled cable I would take a picture. 90% of my pictures were of tangled and overloaded power lines.
Over the years I have become used to it and have forgotten how unbelievable it my be to people who have never visited. I have enjoyed sharing my pictures with friends and family. Watching their jaw just and saying things like “no way”.
I thought I may as well share it with the internet for everyone to enjoy.
Yes it may look messy but it works. Somehow everything seems to work better in Thailand. 3G and 4G seem faster and more reliable.
VOIP phone calls are much clearer. Its seems the less regulation you have the better everything works.
Yes it may all look a lot messier but at the same time many more people have access it at and the prices are cheaper.
If Thailand had to adhere to the strict rules and regulation as for example we have here in Australia. Electricity would be prohibitively expensive, getting a SIM card would be hindered with all sorts of red tape and internet would be slower and less reliable. But it look a whole lot better.
Personally I prefer the Thailand way. I will chose a spaghetti cable with lower costs over a neat and straight prohibitively expensive line any day.
