Pattaya Hua Hin Ferry, over the years there have been many service that have started and stopped servicing this route. Some say it is because it was too expensive others claim the taxi mafia shut it down.

As it stands getting from Hua Hin to Pattaya via road takes a long and uncomfortable 6 hours. You need to travel up through Bangkok and get  stuck in its traffic. This will set you back a few thousand baht by taxi or a few hundred baht via a bus.

A better way surely would be to travel in a straight line. Many tourists and Thai natives not familiar with the are are surprised that no direct boat service exists.

How Long does the Journey Take?

Looking back at previously offered Pattaya to Hua Hin services.
They use to run a 3 hour and 15 minute crossing.

The Price:

In one word expensive. Again looking back on previously offered services one way fare was ฿1600 Bhat and a return was ฿3000 Bhat. Also Children ฿950 Bhat, Family ฿4600 Bhat, and freight at 100 Bhat per KG

The Boat:

High Speed Catamaran with two 360 horse power engines, capable of cursing at 20 knots / 37 km.

Pattaya, Royal Garden Beach Road

Hua Hin: Clock Tower Main Road

Additional Advice:

This service has been offered and then cancelled many times over the past few years. Consider this an unreliable service. Just do an internet search and you will find many articles titled Hua Hin to Pattaya Ferry 2004, 2005 etc.

It is recommended to consider alternative modes of transport given its track record.

The cheapest option would be via Minivan followed by a big bus.

• Hua Hin Bus Station (Opened in 2008) is located at Petchakasam Road Near Soi 96. On the west side of Phetchkasem Road.
• There are many Minivan stations located around Hua Hin Town.
