I have enjoyed showing these pictures and videos to family and friends. They cannot believe that a hole in the footpath can exist without a barrier and signage and flashing lights.
I am sure someone has been hurt by falling down a hall. However I am even more sure it would have most likely been a drunk foreigner.
You see these kinds of obstructions all over Thailand. In all of my many holidays to Thailand how many times have I tripped over, fallen down a hole? Yes 0 times.
Do not be stupid, look where you are going and everything will be just fine. If you cannot handle that maybe Thailand is not for you.
