Intro
So I recently learned of this interesting Thai activity that takes place in North Eastern Thailand (Issan)
When the sun goes down the people come out into the rice fields and hunt for well bugs.
When is it Done
In the month of March. Why March? Because it is hot and the is no rice growing yet. The field that will soon grow the rice are a temporary home to cockroaches and grasshoppers and this is exactly what will be hunted.
What You Will Need
- Head-strap flash light
- A Sweeping Broom
- A Bag
- Your Bare Hands
How it is Done
Wait until the sun comes down and it is dark outside. Grab your flashlight broom and bag and head for the rice fields. Slowly walk the fields while sweeping it with a broom. Use the head-mounted flashlight to shine in front of you and keep a lookout for any insects. If you see one GRAB it with you fingers and put it in your Bug Bag.
