So just exactly or roughly does it cost to get a taxi from the Pratunam area of Bangkok to the old airport (Don Muang?) The hotel offered a service starting from ฿600 for a regular car to ฿1000 for a Van like vehicle.
The first Taxi that was hailed down wanted to charge ฿600 bhat!
In January of 2015 I caught a Meter taxi from Pratunam to Don Muang airport and paid ฿170 Bhat. ฿70 Bhat was for the Tollway
My advice is do not get a Taxi from your hotel as the price is marked up just cross the street and more often than not you will find a better price.

As this post says. It cost me 170 Bhat from right outside the GLOW hotel in Pratunam.
70 Bhat was for the TOLL way.
Just ask for the meter before you get inside.
If they say “no meter” just move onto the next taxi.
The GLOW Pratunam hotel even has a dedicated employee out the front that helps you with getting a taxi just tell him you want a meter taxi.
