Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone Travel for FREE
Melbourne’s Free Tram service started on the 1st of January 2015.
The city of Melbourne received a new FREE Tram service . It covers the main central business district (CBD) as well as a few areas just outside it. Swanston St is covered but not all of it.
Although it only covers a small section I guess you really cant complain about something that’s free.
How do you know when you are Outside of the Free Tram Zone?
There is usually a small sign to tell you this tram stop is outside of the free Tram zone.
Be very careful as 10 time out of 9 there will be a group of ticket inspectors waiting at the tram stops just outside of the free zone ready to give you a fine.
