The room was nice big and clean, spacious. There was no option to not have the included breakfast. Annoyingly they charged a ฿500 Baht deposit for the room key and gave a receipt, upon checking out they asked for the room key receipt which is really annoying, when you are on holiday you have better things to think about then keeping tabs for a room key deposit receipt.

Internet Summary:
The signal was strong but no actual connectivity to the internet.
I had no internet for the first 8 hours of my stay. It was not until the second time I told them that they got someone onto fixing it. A worker can out and started to power cycle the Linksys WRT54G WiFi routers. Then he went away when I came back after a Three hour outing finally there was internet. When it worked it was OK but often time it would just time out.
The sign outside says “High Speed Internet” this is clearly untrue as the equipment serving up the WiFi can only do 54 Mbps max.
House Keeping:
Room was kept very clean, bed sheets were changed, drinking water replenished, towels replaced etc everything you would expect.

Did they keep your passport during your visit or just during check in ? Did they give you the key money back on check out ? Is it worth staying in that hotel if your on a budget ? Im planning to stay there this july…

They do not keep your passport during your stay. They do however make a photocopy of it at check in time.
Yes they do give back the key deposit when you check out.
They do give you a receipt for the key deposit, and expect you to hand the receipt back at checkout.
I could not find my receipt but the refunded the key deposit anyway.
Gateway is a pretty decent mid range 3 star hotel nice and clean. Rooms are around the 1000 Bhat a night price.
Not sure what type of budget you are on.
There is a hotel on the opposite side of the road that is 500 Baht a night but it is no where near as nice of a place, not so clean and run down. There are also a few dorm room style shared accommodation on the streets west of the Gateway hotel
