Bangkok to Kanchanaburi Bus
Bangkok to Kanchanaburi by bus is a cheap and easy option. There are two bus terminals to choose from in Bangkok. The Northern (Mo Chit) or Southern (Sai Tai Mai)
Kanchanaburi has only one bus station, off Sangchuto Road near the corner of U-Thong Road.
So no need to worry about where you will arrive at, as it can only be one place.

Bus Station:
Mo Chit (Northern Terminal) & Sai Tai Mai (Southern Terminal).
Sai Tai Mai Terminal is a lot further out of the way from central Bangkok. Getting here may be more time consuming and expensive if say coming by taxi.
Mo Chit is a lot easier to get to and is located right next to the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Buses to Kanchanaburi from this terminal take slightly longer. Around 30 minutes longer than from the Southern terminal, so the difference really is negligible.

Busses leave from the southern terminals about every 30 minutes. Every 60 minutes from the northern terminal daily. Buses run from around 6am until 10pm daily at both.
