Bangkok Airport Suvarnabhumi International Airport Thailand:


Named Suvarnabhumi \ ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ Opened in 2008 and is located 25 km east of Bangkok
Airport code is BKK, this was recycled from it predecessor Don Muang when it stopped providing international flights.
A free shuttle bus operates connecting Bangkok International Airport and Don Mueang Airport.
Hours of operation are 05:00 until 00:00 Very modern interior a world of difference when compared with the old one.
There is a 7 eleven on Level 2 and on the Basement Level

Basement Level: Airport Rail Link

Airport Train:
Is located in the basement level and if a very cheap way of getting to and from the Bangkok Airport. This has to be the cheapest option by far. There are two train services a standard and express. Both will get you to Bangkok Airport.
Money Exchange:
Also located on the basement level. Make sure to stay away from any money exchange booths that have a “show your passport sign” Best bet is to go straight to “Super Rich” an orange colored.
Update: Unfortunately since the time this article was originally written the vast majority of money exchanges do require identification. It is required under the guise of anti money laundering. Who do the sell the information gathered to? It is still possible to find exchanges that respect your privacy, however they are very rare.
This booth that consistently has the best rates and does not violate your privacy by asking you to show your passport or ID. (Update: They now require ID or will not exchange your money)

Level 1: Public Transportation

Taxi:
A metered taxi ride into the main city costs around ฿160 Bhat. Be careful! There are many fixed fare Taxi services with astronomical over priced fares. Your best option is get a metered taxi. On one occasion I was presented with a price card quoting ฿1400 Bhat for a short trip into down town Bangkok. I got out quick smart and found a metered taxi. Final fare ฿150 Bhat. Be careful.
By Bus:
There are three bus routes servicing the airport. Bus fares cost around ฿35 Bhat. A very cheap way of getting out of the airport.

Level 4: Departures


By Car:
Motorway number 7 is a great modern road that will connect you up with Bangkok and the coast of Thailand.

Walking:
I have not attempted this method, therefore I am unable to offer any advice on it. I may give it a try next time.
Visa:
Most nations are offered a 30 day VISA on arrival if you enter Thailand via air. 14 days if entered via land. Immigration laws have recently changed making it harder to get a repeat visa on arrival consecutively.
